Address bar, tabs, bookmarks, history, private mode, downloads.

BlockingFilter lists

Requests refused and slots hidden, in the reader as in the browser.

On deviceNothing sent

Page translation, reader mode, Apple Intelligence summary.

Media pagesPlayback

Picture in Picture, playback speed, quality cap for Wi-Fi and cellular.

Start screen13 kinds of cards

Favorites, history, saved, price tracking, open tabs, downloads, daily digest, and more. One Home Screen widget shows any of them.

The reader

Subscribe to any site

Suggestions are there from the first launch, in your language. Subscribe to a site that publishes a feed, or to one that does not: Silim builds the feed from the page itself.

  • Folders and saved articles
  • Unread counts
  • A list that remembers what you have already seen
  • OPML import and export, hidden words
  • Offline copies with a size cap
  • Background checks with notifications per source, and a daily digest
The browser

Not a viewer: a real browser

It opens any website. It also shows you every cookie a site sets, one by one, which ones last and which do not, and lets you throw them away.

  • Tabs you can sort, reopen a closed tab, bookmarks, history, private mode
  • Links cleaned of tracking parameters and tracking redirects skipped
  • Cookie banners refused, “forget this site when I leave”, erase everything
  • Desktop version and per-site settings, camera and microphone per site
  • PDF, printing and file downloads
  • Page translation, reader mode and summary, done on the device
  • Connections: sites you are signed in to, behind Face ID or Touch ID, shared through iCloud Keychain
Made for a thumb

The address bar is the dashboard

Swipe up to see all open pages. Swipe down to go back to the start screen. Swipe sideways to move from one page to the next. From the right edge, the menu; from the left edge, the reader.

Blocking

Built in, not added on

Requests that appear on the filter lists are refused and the elements those lists name are hidden. Nothing is ever extracted from a page.

Media pages

Watch and listen your way

Picture in Picture, playback speed, a quality cap for Wi-Fi and cellular, double tap to skip 10 seconds, sound that keeps playing in the background, and a watch later list. Playback resumes on its own after a network drop.

Your numbers

Where your cellular data really goes

Time spent, articles read, pages opened, and every megabyte counted by connection type. On iPad, a two-column widget board and a reader with a sidebar.

Privacy

No Silim account, no ads, no analytics. iCloud backup stays off until you turn it on, and it goes to your private iCloud database.

Referrals and the public Suggestions board go through iCloud with a random identifier. Connections use your iCloud Keychain. The app downloads its filter lists, site icons and your feeds.
