Privacy Policy
Last updated October 31, 2026
Enki Audio is a macOS app. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it goes, and how you can remove it. The short version: Enki works on your Mac. There are no Enki servers, no accounts with us, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
What stays on your Mac
Sound, pictures, profiles, settings, recordings and transcriptions are processed and stored on your Mac only. Transcription runs on the Mac, with Apple's speech recognition or a Whisper model stored locally. Enki needs macOS permissions such as Microphone, Camera, Screen Recording and Audio Capture to do its work; what it captures is used only inside the sessions you build and is never sent to us.
What leaves your Mac, and only when you ask
- Live streaming. When you start a Live module, its picture and sound go to the server you chose (YouTube, Twitch, Facebook or another RTMP server). That platform's own privacy policy applies to what you stream.
- Feature requests. When you post a request, vote, comment or report, the text, the nickname you chose and your vote are stored in the app's public database on Apple iCloud (CloudKit). iCloud identifies you to the app by an anonymous identifier; Enki never sees your name, email address or Apple Account. Anyone using the app can read requests and comments. You can delete your own requests and comments in the app.
- Updates. Enki checks for new versions by reading the public release list of its GitHub repository. No personal data is sent.
- Speech models. If you choose a Whisper model, Enki downloads it once from Hugging Face. No personal data is sent.
- Stream Deck. The Stream Deck plug-in talks to Enki on your Mac only, through the local network interface (localhost).
YouTube and Google user data
Connecting a YouTube account is optional. It lets Enki prepare a live stream on your channel without copying a stream key by hand. If you never connect an account, Enki receives no data from Google.
What Enki accesses
When you connect, Google asks you to grant Enki the https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube scope (manage your YouTube account). Enki uses it only through the YouTube Data API v3 to:
- read your channel name and picture, to show which account is connected;
- create a live broadcast and a live stream, bind them together, and read the stream's ingestion address and stream key;
- read and update the status of the broadcasts Enki created, so the broadcast can start and end with your session.
Enki does not read, change or delete your videos, playlists, comments, subscriptions or any other channel content.
How Enki uses, stores and shares it
- The sign-in tokens Google returns are stored in the macOS Keychain on your Mac. The stream key is used in memory to start the stream and is not written to disk.
- Data received from Google is used only to provide the feature above, inside the app, on your Mac. It is never sent to Enki's developer or to any server other than Google's and the YouTube ingestion server you stream to.
- It is not sold, not shared with third parties, not used for advertising, and not used to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
- Nobody but you can read it: the developer has no access to your account, tokens or channel data.
Enki Audio's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Enki uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube account you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Disconnecting and deleting
Click Disconnect next to your account in Enki's Settings, under Accounts. Enki revokes the access with Google and deletes the tokens from the Keychain. You can also remove Enki's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page. Deleting the app does not keep anything on our side, because nothing was ever sent to us.
Other streaming accounts
If you connect another platform such as Twitch, the same rules apply: its tokens are kept in the macOS Keychain, used only to prepare your stream, and never sent to us.
Children
Enki Audio is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
